Some stories remind me why we started 10 Saturdays. One of our earliest applicants was Jasper Jaklofsky, an independent full-stack developer from Limburg. Jasper didn’t join because he lacked ideas. He joined because he wanted to validate one properly. He came with a clear concept — but he was looking for structure: real market insight, a solid business plan, and clarity around sales and cash flow. During our sessions on sales from Joris Moons and financial fundamentals from Dr. Anna Ezerskiy MBA something shifted. Not only for his future business. But for his ongoing freelance work too. He started applying the insights immediately. Back in 2014–2018, I had the opportunity to work closely with BizTalk Server while supporting a product that provided monitoring capabilities for it. That experience opened up a whole new world of integration for me — the kind that goes beyond tech specs and dives into how businesses actually function behind the scenes. BizTalk wasn’t just a middleware platform. Personally, it paved the way for me into the integration community. I got to interact with some incredibly smart people, learned about the real-world impact of connected systems, and built a solid foundation that still helps me today. Now, as Microsoft gradually shifts its focus away from BizTalk, there’s a mix of nostalgia and curiosity. It's hard not to look back fondly, but it’s equally exciting to look ahead. I’m genuinely excited about what’s next — Azure Integration Services and the shift to cloud-native architecture feel like the natural next step, not just for Microsoft, but for the community at large. This is more than just a migration story. It’s about rethinking how we approach integration in a modern, scalable, future-ready way. Automating retrieval of government documents with BoxFlow and Odoo 🚀 Sien Vanhove gave me a great tip yesterday about BoxFlow and it has already saved me a lot of manual work. The Boxflow platform connects directly to Belgian government portals like eBox-Enterprise and myMinFin. It retrieves documents automatically so you don't have to click through six different tabs to find what you need. From there, you can set it to forward those files wherever you want. How I set it up: * I configured my company "BusNes" incoming mail server in Odoo with a specific email address for BoxFlow to send to. * I created a folder called 'FromGOV' in the Odoo Documents app. * The mail gateway in Odoo is set up so that any attachments BoxFlow sends are placed directly into that folder. The result: The entire process is fully automated and everything is archived correctly without me having to lift a finger. I had the whole thing running in about 10 minutes! Boxflow even offers a free plan for one organization with up to five messages per month. That is more than enough for what I need right now. The One With the Mascot 🟢Spryngbase diaries🟢Ep #03 My partner (let's call him ‘A’) has the craziest ideas. While we were sitting in the tram in Ghent, he looks at me and says, "Spryngbase should have a mascot." I look at him and ask, "What?" "Spryngbase should have a mascot," he repeats. "Okay, and what do you suggest?" I ask, amused. "A lion, for Belgium," he says. "It has to be something green," I retort. "A FROG!!!" he exclaims. "Actually, that is not such a bad idea! We can call him Spryngy," I reply. I pull up an illustration of a frog on Google and ask GPT to add the word Spryngy under it and then WhatsApp it to my co-founders, and that's how we have a mascot. So folks, the message is: ideas can come from everywhere and everyone. P.S. ‘A’ also suggested that he would like to dress up as Spryngy and come to our meetings; I have put that idea on hold for now.

The title 'medior developer' often sparks debate in the tech community. Some see it as just another step on the ladder to becoming a senior developer. A temporary label that should be discarded as quickly as possible. But I disagree. Being a medior developer means you've grown beyond junior level. You can work independently, mentor others and tackle complex problems without constant guidance. These are real achievements. The pressure to rush through this stage can make us miss valuable learning opportunities. Building a strong foundation takes time. The skills you develop as a medior: - Deep problem-solving abilities - Code architecture knowledge - Team collaboration expertise - Technical leadership potential Each level in software development brings its own growth and challenges. And here's what I've learned: Being proud of where you are know doesn't stop you from growing further. The medior title isn't just a stepping stone. It's proof of how far you've already come. "We have a PHP SDK ready for you to use." That's what I told Robin Dirksen the day before he integrated Vatly during a hackathon. What he did instead: pointed his AI at our documentation and let it figure out what to use. He vibe-coded his entire Vatly integration in one shot. From what I gathered, he didn't even check his codebase to see what the AI had done. Probably direct HTTP calls from his Laravel backend. It just worked. This changes how I think about developer experience. I used to prioritize: SDK first, then documentation. Now I'm wondering if that's backwards. Documentation might matter more than SDKs when AI can read your docs and make the right calls. The whole developer experience is shifting. As a developer myself, I'd prefer to see an official SDK getting used. It feels right. But apparently it's not a necessity anymore. Or is it? 👉 Azure Virtual Desktop for hybrid environments - Cheat Sheet. When the Hybride announcement came, I thought, but what about Azure Local (also because I am currently working on a course for Azure Local)? Well, as it tuns out it quite obvious that both are sperate propositions. Which we've known for a while, of course. With similarities, sure, but still different. From an architectural (API) point of view as well - but more on that in the (near) future. Have a look below and see some of the main difference and current statuses between the two. Odoo.sh Storage Billing: Hey #OdooCommunity #CloudComputing #SaaS experts, need your perspective on something. I was reviewing my Odoo.sh storage billing and found a pricing model that seems... interesting. Curious if this is standard practice or if I'm missing something. My active usage: Production DB: 15.6 GB Staging Builds: 9.6 GB Total Active Storage: ~25.2 GB Yet, my provisioned storage is 73 GB, billed at the advertised rate of $0.25/GB/mo ($18.25 total). The difference comes from three full backups (15.6 GB each), which are included in the billable total. Here's the kicker: This means my effective cost for the active storage I use isn't $0.25/GB, but actually closer to $0.72/GB once the cost of the redundant backups is factored in. My question to the experts: Is charging the full storage rate for each backup instance a common cloud hosting model? While redundancy is non-negotiable, billing the primary rate for all copies effectively quadruples the storage cost. Is this a standard "price of reliability" in the SaaS world, or is this an opaque way of pricing that deserves a closer look?
